Surface Engineering’s hardfaced wear plate is a convenient way to apply a variety of wear resistant overlays to large surfaces. As manufactured, the plate is 9’ x 12′ in size and rolled to a flatness of +/- 1/16”. Popular deposit thickness’ are 1/8” and 1/4”, but thinner or thicker deposits are sometimes available depending on the overlay type or base metal gauge required. Various shapes may be cut out of the plate and subsequently rolled to form if necessary. In some cases, the plate can be used for complete component fabrication eliminating the need to insert pieces into or onto an existing fabrication. For mounting, studs can be applied to the back side, counter sunk bolt holes can be cut in, or the plate can be welded in place quite easily with 70S-3 or 7018 filler metals. We also offer hardfaced pipe and pipe elbows from 2” I.D. to 20” I.D. Pipe lengths range from 3’ to 20’ depending on the I.D. to be overlayed.
